Before I start telling you about what I believe is the most important discovery in the world of business and personal development in the last 50 years, you may be interested to know my credentials, especially since I have no letters after my name. Otherwise, you may be justified in wondering if I know what I'm talking about.
I'm a business nerd. I've been in business for myself continuously since I was 10 years old. I hired my first employee at age 11 and sold my first business at age 12. I carried a briefcase in grade school (no, I was not popular) and helped fellow students start real businesses in high school and college. As a business adviser, speaker, and author for the last 31 years, I've helped hundreds of business owners in dozens of industries achieve success beyond their expectations.
I'm a voracious consumer of everything related to business relationships, automated systems, human behavior, marketing, and sales (although we no longer use those last two terms, which I'll explain later). My library is full of hundreds of business books and audio/video programs, and I've attended hundreds more courses and seminars.
If I watch TV at all, it's to critique the commercials. I have mentally re-designed every billboard and rewritten every advertisement I've ever seen. I'm passionate about customer service. For over a decade, I've written a letter of praise and a letter of criticism every month to companies I have personally encountered, just to help improve the level of service for others. That's the kind of thing I do instead of posting on Facebook, watching sports, or playing video games.
I've never been the life of any party, but I'm absolutely passionate about transforming small businesses into powerhouses of contribution and profitability. I'm always looking to find better and easier ways for business owners to transcend their current experiences and step into the full potential of their creative minds and business models.
That's the Cliff's Notes version of what brought me here, but I earned the title "America's Business Adviser" because I'm dedicated to helping business owners and professionals optimize their efforts and fully own the power of their own contribution for the benefit of their clientele and their bank accounts.
All of my experience has helped me to understand the world of business WAY beyond what my university business degrees gave me, but really the most meaningful lessons I learned weren't in any of my classes, books or programs. And that's when I realized that there was a HUGE hole in the information that business owners have available to them to break through old patterns on their way to total entrepreneurial freedom. I just couldn't quite see the whole picture of how to fill that hole.
Then I met Dr. Matthew Norton. He heard me speak at a seminar in Orlando, Florida, and hired me to help him in his evolution from successful doctor, business owner, author, and speaker to fully become the visionary leader of a new movement.
Dr. Norton had a very busy practice and had achieved worldwide notoriety through his books and presentations. Like me, Dr. Norton was a voracious consumer of information, but not only about business. He had become an expert in the field of motivation and behavior--why and how people do what they do. He also had extensive knowledge in brain science and the neurology of success and influence. Really interesting stuff!
As it turns out, Dr. Norton's expertise was the missing piece of the puzzle that I had been searching for. Not only did he have the knowledge and the expertise, but he was a classic overachiever. He was valedictorian of his university graduating class and never embraced "good enough" as an acceptable outcome. His work ethic was second to none and it showed in everything he did.
Dr. Norton is the highest integrity person I have ever known and it's been my privilege to work with him. Happily, Dr. Norton and I discovered that we not only got along on a professional level, but that we were philosophically aligned and we became close personal friends as well.
Over the next eight years, we pooled our collective knowledge and experience and immersed ourselves in the invention of a method for business owners to tap into the unconstrained potential of their own minds and break through the limitations that have kept them from achieving at the highest levels.

We're not even keeping it a secret, because that's a tactic used by people who are afraid that they're going to give away too much and then nobody will buy what they're selling. One of the biggest mistakes business owners make is putting all their attention into strategies before they've developed the 7 mindsets that will determine whether or not those strategies will be effective. At first glance, some of these mindsets may seem to be too simple to be life-changing, but know this: to the extent that you have fallen short of your hopes and dreams in business so far, it is because of your level of understanding and application of these 7 mindsets.

People are struggling everywhere you turn. They have massive unmet needs of all varieties (health, finances, possessions, relationships, careers, sense of meaning and purpose, children, retirement, etc.). These challenges are producing excessive stresses often resulting in unhappiness, a lack of fulfillment, anxiety and depression, job dissatisfaction and loss, financial pressure, divorce, pain, and disease.
Your business provides a benefit that can improve the quality of life for another human being, and you should consider it your privilege to provide it to them. If you don't believe with all of your heart in the importance of what you do (no matter what it is) and embrace the perspective that you have a unique and valuable contribution to make, then you will never step into your full potential as a business owner.
Don't get caught up in thinking: "But I don't know how to do any of this." Right now you don't need to know "how" to do everything. As a starting point of invention or reinvention, you simply need to get clear on "what" you want to contribute and what outcomes you would like to see (hint: listen to your heart), and then the "whos" will show up to help you with the knowledge, insights, and strategies of "how."
The first step is to explore and discover your Personal Inspired Message™ (PIM)—the articulate statement that expresses your commitment to doing what you do at the highest level. Your PIM is what gets you out of bed excited in the morning, ready to improve people's lives.
Your PIM must then inspire and align with your Unique Compelling Contribution (UCC) statement, which answers the question on behalf of your public: "Why should I do business with you over all the other options at my disposal?" In other words: what makes you not just the best at what you do, but the only one who does what you do? Putting this simple mindset into practice will open doors for you that you didn't even know existed!
The typical approaches business owners use to reach their audience are marketing and advertising. The business world is obsessed with marketing systems and marketing techniques. But people aren't market segments to be exploited; they're real human beings with legitimate needs for what you offer--and you need to reach out to them where they are and offer them the hope of satisfying those needs.

This simple perspective is the answer to the riddle of why some people succeed while others wallow in the mire of mediocrity.
Part of embracing YOU at the center is realizing that your business should support your desired lifestyle instead of having to always sacrifice your lifestyle to support your business (which is what most people do). Compromise is sometimes necessary, but consistently neglecting your personal life is a recipe for disaster.
